Brenda was the third child born
to James J. Washington, Sr. and Mildred S. Washington. She was born
on September 26, 1951 and she went home to be with Jesus on
August 16, 1999. She is now before the Throne of Grace singing "Hallelujah!"
and asking God how much longer she will have to wait until we are
all reunited again. Don't worry, Sis! We are determined to keep
pressing towards the mark of Christ's high calling and we will be
there to sing with you in God's own time!
Brenda was a former member of
Galloway Methodist Church of Falls Church, Virginia and later joined
Faith Christian Church and International Outreach Center of Warrenton,
Virginia.
Millicent,
her only child and daughter, now lives in Falls Church with her
husband and child Andrew.
Brenda was a compassionate soul
who loved animals and writing poetry. Her writings have been combined
into a book entitled "In My Own Words," which you can
read here. If you don't
already have it, you will need Adobe

"Greetings, in the Name of Our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! The author of this book of poems
is my sister, Brenda Leatrice Baltimore. We will always remember
Brenda for her wit, her stubborness, her courage and her kindness.
She faced adversity with faith and courage, leaning heavily on her
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
"In these poems, you will
find all the elements of life here on earth -- happiness, sadness,
determination, faith, encouragement and love. It is our hope that
these poems will inspire and encourage you, and that you get to
see just a glimpse of the wonderful person whom we had the privilege
of calling our sister.
"Like David, Brenda wrote
poems to express her love of God.
Sing on, my sister, sing!"
We have no doubt that she is
doing just that.
