In April 1960, a new branch was added to the family tree in the person of Mildred J. Washington. Mom and Dad gave her one of each of their names: Mildred after Mom and Josephine after Dad (Dad's middle name is Joseph). She was supposed to be the last one, but God had other plans!

Jo was baptized into the Body of Christ in May 1977 (at the same ceremony as her brother, Jimmy). She joined the Young Adult Choir and the Junior Usher Board. Whenever there was an all day church event, you could find her helping in the kitchen or doing whatever needed to be done. She also sang with God's Messengers, the family singing group.

She attended Fauquier High School, the University of Virginia, and was graduated from Capella University with a degree in Information Technology (with a concentration in Networking) in 2005. She is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and is certified in LiveNote and Concordance and is a California Notary Public as well.

Jo (as we like to call her) currently lives in California, where she works as Director of Online Projects for a Litigation Support vendor. When she is not working or in church, she loves to read, crochet and work on world peace and harmony.
